Lately I've been a lot thinking about the entertainment industry as it is right now... the hierarchy of the arts in which dance exists on the lower end. I can see it in peoples eyes when they see that you want to be involved with dance as a career, they think to themselves "that doesn't make money". Personally, I couldn't care less about money - but what I do care about is the responsibility I have towards my family. Music is so profitable because people can relate to the music... to the artists; In order to relate to something you need to understand it. Theres the problem, not enough people "understand" dance. So I've been thinking about how to change things, how to do things differently... how to bring this passion I've practiced in secret my whole life into the light of mainstream while still keeping my integrity as an artist... thinking, thinking, thinking so much that I nearly lost sight of why I started it all in the first place.
